Is A Vinyl Fence Right For You?

Purchasing a fence for your home is a big decision, and trying to decide between wood, vinyl, and aluminum can be difficult. How do you know if a vinyl fence is right for you? Here is a list of a couple of questions that are good to ask yourself before purchasing a vinyl fence:
How long do you plan on living at your house?
This is an essential question because it might not make sense for you to install a vinyl fence at your home if you plan to move soon. Vinyl fences are more expensive than wood, aluminum, and chainlink, so if you plan to move in a couple of years, you might be better off getting a different style. On the other hand, if you just moved in or are in your forever home, a vinyl fence might be your best option. The best part of a vinyl fence is that they are 100% maintenance-free! After your vinyl fence is installed, there is nothing you need to do besides enjoy it.

What is your budget?

Before your fence estimate, it is crucial to know what your budget is. Not all fences are created equal. You have the option of a wood picket fence or a decorative two-tone vinyl fence. But knowing what your budget is before the fence estimate can help you decide with the fence company. Typically, vinyl fences are more expensive than wood, aluminum, or chainlink fences. The reason for this is simple: they are not only maintenance-free, but they are aesthetically pleasing, and you have the option of complete privacy or picket styles. You can also choose between three different color options: white, sandstone, and khaki.
Are you allowed to have a vinyl fence installed in your city/neighborhood?

This doesn't apply to every homeowner, but you should first check with them to see what fence material and styles are allowed in your subdivision if you have a homeowners association. For instance, several HOA's only allow aluminum fences or wood fences, so getting a vinyl fence is not an option. After confirming with your HOA that there are no restrictions, you should call your village or check their website for information. Most of the time, the village isn't concerned with the fence material but the fence height. For instance, if you're a corner house, maybe you're only allowed to have a 4 foot spaced fence. Or you can only have a 6-foot fence if it's open. Either way, it's essential to check on these things before scheduling the fence estimate.
We had about 470 feet of Vinyl fence put it, and our experience was amazing. It starts with Carmen, who is fantastic. The customer skills of this guy are downright incredible. He was accommodating throughout the process, and you can tell he cares about his customers. Five stars all the way around for Carmen! The installers were very detailed oriented, and they made sure to take their time, so the job was done right. Chon was very accommodating and knew exactly how to do the job right! Our fence looks beautiful!!! Look no further and hire this company today! You will be pleased that you did. Thanks, Timber Ridge Fence Company, for a great experience!!!!!

Benefits Of A Vinyl Fence

Durability:
Vinyl fences are incredibly durable! They won't rot, decay, weather, or fade. However, not all vinyl fences are created equal. There are several things that you should consider before purchasing a new vinyl fence. How thick are the top and bottom rails? Are the posts going to be set in concrete? How long is the space from post to post? All vinyl fences must be set in concrete, and you want to make sure the proper post anchors are installed. Here at Timber Ridge Fence, we cut a hole in the bottom of the vinyl post, below the grade, and put a horizontal anchor that adheres to the concrete. Also, you want to make sure the gate posts have aluminum stiffeners inside them to hold the gate's weight. It's essential to make sure you compare apples to apples when getting multiple estimates for vinyl. Usually, if the price is significantly lower, there is a reason.
Maintenance-Free:

The beauty of getting a new vinyl fence installed is that they are 100% maintenance-free! Unlike wood fences that need to be stained or power washed, there is nothing you need to do post-installation to maintain the vinyl fence. It is designed to last a lifetime! However, it is good practice to clean off your vinyl fence twice a year. Naturally, they will get dirty over time or get some algae on them, so it's good to be proactive with it. Also, the vinyl gates use a new and improved gate hinge, which is self-adjustable. This is important because gates are usually the first things that need maintenance when it comes to wood fences. However, you can easily adjust the gates yourself over time with vinyl, which is a great feature.
Curb Appeal:
Whether you choose a white picket fence or a solid two-tone privacy fence, vinyl fences look great and maintain their curb appeal for a long time. This is especially important when you are going to sell your home one day. You can view your vinyl fence as an investment, one that will hold its value for a long time.
Timber Ridge Fence Company did an excellent job taking down our old fence and replacing it with a new one. Jason provided a reasonable estimate for the work and scheduled the installation shortly after the estimate. The installation crew was on time, efficient, and professional. They asked questions when required and completed the job in one day. We love the look of our new fence and would recommend Timber Ridge Fence Company for anyone in the market for a fence!
