Getting Ready for Your Estimate
No! Contact us today for a free estimate.
While Timber Ridge Fence Company can provide estimates based on surveys or drawings with measurements, we highly recommend meeting with one of our fence specialists on-site. This allows us to provide physical samples of Timber Ridge products, show you photos of similar projects, and offer personalized advice. Additionally, an on-site visit enables our fencing specialist to assess any potential obstacles like easements, utilities, or landscaping that could impact your fence design and installation.
At Timber Ridge Fence Company, we’re familiar with many local HOA and city regulations. However, we always recommend that you obtain a copy of your HOA guidelines and research your city’s fencing restrictions. Most of this information is typically available online. If you need assistance interpreting these guidelines, we’re here to help.
We understand that our clients have busy lives. That’s why we offer flexible appointment times Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM. If these times don’t work for you, we can often arrange early morning or evening appointments upon request and subject to your salesperson’s availability.
If possible, please have a legal boundary survey and your HOA fencing guidelines ready. Don’t worry if you don’t have these documents on hand — we can still provide an estimate. Without this information, however, the quote may need to be revised later to ensure compliance with property boundaries and restrictions.
HOA Guidelines, Surveys, and Permits
While Timber Ridge Fence Company can install a fence based on your directions without a boundary survey, we strongly recommend knowing your property’s legal boundaries before installation. Without an accurate survey, you as the homeowner are responsible for the fence’s location and any potential disputes or legal issues that may arise. To avoid complications, it’s best to have a clear understanding of your property lines.
Survey location reports and mortgage surveys are typically not accurate representations of property boundaries and often come with disclaimers against using them for new construction or fences. For the most accurate results, we recommend obtaining a proper boundary survey. Without one, you’ll be responsible for the fence placement and any resulting disputes.
There are two free options to obtain your survey:
- Check your closing documents from when you purchased your home.
- Visit your county courthouse or local city/town hall to request a recorded copy of any existing surveys for your property.
If you don’t have a survey, you can hire a professional land surveyor. Many reputable companies can be found online. If you need a recommendation, Timber Ridge Fence Company would be happy to suggest trusted surveyors in our area!
Permit requirements vary by location. While our team is knowledgeable about local regulations, we always recommend checking with your local city offices for the most up-to-date information on permits and fencing guidelines.
Fence permit costs typically range from $25 to $35, but prices can vary. For the most accurate information, please check with your local city or town hall.
Generally, you’ll need:
- A copy of your property boundary survey (a plot plan or survey location report may suffice).
- A site map or highlighted layout on the survey showing your planned fence location.
- A copy of the fence contract (this may be optional).
- A picture or rendering of the proposed fence.
Timelines can vary, but typically HOA approval usually takes 14-30 days. Permits, on the other hand, are often issued on the spot but can sometimes take up to a week to process.
Understanding the Installation Process
Weather and material supply permitting, most of our fence installation projects are completed in as little as one to two days. We work efficiently to respect your valuable time.
After a fence installation date has been scheduled, you will be required to contact your community and HOA to receive a fencing permit. As for your yard, you will be responsible for clearing the fence line of any debris, foliage, or sprinklers.
Absolutely not. At Timber Ridge Fence, we respect your property and will take special care to preserve the integrity of your landscaping and leave as little of a “work footprint” in your yard as possible; however, there will be reasonable wear and tear where we have to move wheelbarrows and materials along the fence line.
Timber Ridge will call JULIE to mark all “public” utilities and make sure all public utility cables are identified and marked correctly. It will be the responsibility of the homeowner to mark all “private” utility lines (sprinkler lines, sump lines, private gas / electric lines, etc)
To ensure proper installation of your new fence and the safety of our employees, we do not recommend working in inclement weather. If the forecast calls for storms, we will work with you to adjust our scheduled installation date until weather conditions permit.
Payment Options and Warranty Information
We accept payments by check, cash, credit, and debit cards (Visa®, Discover®, Mastercard®, and American Express®).
Yes! We’re confident in the quality of our workmanship and the supplies that we use, and our warranties reflect that confidence.
Timber Ridge Fence has a two-year labor and material warranty on all wood fence products and a three-year labor warranty on all maintenance-free fence products. The material warranty on maintenance-free products usually has a limited lifetime from the manufacturer.
Material and labor warranties vary depending on the material used and the manufacturers’ policies. Your fence consultant will be happy to provide you with specific warranty details depending on the fence products you’re interested in purchasing.
